📄 LoadDock Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using LoadDock — the UK load and haulage exchange platform.

1. Overview

LoadDock is a digital marketplace connecting shippers (those offering transport work) and hauliers (those providing transport services). By using LoadDock, you agree to these Terms and any policies referenced within them.

2. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when registering.
  • Companies must use a valid Operator Licence (where applicable).
  • You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account.
  • LoadDock reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts that breach these Terms.

3. Platform Use

  • LoadDock provides a platform for connecting users; it does not act as a carrier or broker.
  • All arrangements between shippers and hauliers are contracts between those parties directly.
  • You agree not to use LoadDock for illegal or prohibited activities.
  • Users must not post fraudulent loads, bids, or contact details.

4. Fees and Payments

  • LoadDock may charge fees or commissions for services, including featured listings or transaction commissions.
  • Fees are due as specified and processed via Stripe or other payment partners.
  • Attempting to avoid LoadDock fees by completing, arranging, or negotiating work off-platform after being introduced through LoadDock is strictly prohibited.
  • Where fee avoidance is detected, LoadDock may:
    • Charge the avoided commission directly,
    • Suspend or terminate the offending accounts, and/or
    • Pursue recovery of lost fees.

5. Non-Compete and Non-Circumvention

By using LoadDock, you agree that for a period of 12 months after first contact with another user through the platform, you will not:

  • Enter into any agreement, directly or indirectly, with that user outside LoadDock to avoid platform fees;
  • Develop, operate, or assist in building a competing freight or load-matching platform that uses LoadDock's data, code, or user relationships.

Any breach of this clause may result in suspension, legal action, or liquidated damages equivalent to the avoided commission and reasonable costs incurred by LoadDock.

6. Verification and Compliance

  • LoadDock may verify company or licence information via public data (e.g., DVSA records).
  • LoadDock may remove or suspend accounts that cannot be verified or are found to provide false information.

7. Liability

  • LoadDock is not responsible for the performance, quality, or legality of loads, vehicles, or services agreed between users.
  • Users are responsible for their own compliance with transport laws, insurances, and permits.
  • LoadDock's total liability is limited to the fees paid by the affected user in the previous 3 months.

8. Data and Privacy

  • LoadDock collects and processes data in accordance with UK GDPR.
  • User data will not be sold to third parties.
  • Certain business information (e.g., company name, rating) may be displayed publicly.

9. Termination

  • LoadDock may suspend or close any account at its discretion, especially for:
    • Fee avoidance or off-platform dealing,
    • Fraud or misrepresentation,
    • Abuse or harassment of other users.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
